Christoph Baumer (FI'04)
Dr. Christoph Baumer (FI 04) is a leading explorer of Central Asia, the Taklamakan Desert and Tibet who made there several important archaeological and historic discoveries. He strongly believes that there are still blank spots on Asia’s map in terms of archaeology; they only have to be searched for at the right places. His publications have been translated in 23 languages so far. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, the Royal Asiatic Society and Founder & President of the Society for the Exploration of EurAsia.
